One day the sun will burn out so this is all temporary.
This life. This feeling. This love.
One day the two galaxies will collide making a whole new universe so this is all just here for a little while.
Our conversations. Our flirting. Our desire.
And some days when I drink a glass of water I savor the thirst.
I forget how good the simple things can be.
The smell of citrus when I peel a tangerine.
Or like when you stroke the back of my head as we sat together, drinking.
Or how we caught the other looking, smiling across the room.
Life is too fast and too slow
One minute I don’t know who you are, the next I spell your name with my tongue on the roof of my mouth.
Once I knew how to live life without you but now I cannot go a day without thinking of you, hoping that you are just as cursed with the thought of me too.
I savor every memory because I know in the end it cannot come with me.
One day the galaxy will be entirely new.
